The temple, also known as Wat Preah Chedey Borapaut, was founded in 1372. The chedi stands at 27 metres (88.5 ft) tall. The temple sanctuary, which contains a large bronze Buddha statue, has been rebuilt numerous times over the years, the most recent being in 1926.
